PRESENCE // .absence

This exhibition is spread throughout an industrial, two-story creative artspace, featuring five galleries of work that each individually and collectively comment on the tension between existence and non-existence. We are curious about the challenges of perception. How do we balance personal experience versus collective knowledge?

This sampling of stunning works of art gathered through an open call strongly illustrates the themes of existential quandary that are occupying our collective unconscious.

The audience is asked to reflect on how identity is defined by not just physical form but by emotional resonance and historical weight. We have merged form, material, color and lack thereof to explore the intricate interplay between life + loss, lightness + darkness and what it means to witness this exchange. The work itself and the overall experience of the exhibition are both physical and conceptual, inviting reflection on how presence can be felt in what is seen, and how voids subtly mold our perceptions.

Presence meaning spirit. Presence meaning identity. Or presence being defined by absence.
